SUMMARY:Becoming Kin - Exploring Interconnectedness in a Fragmented World
DESCRIPTION:Our industrial growth society fosters disconnection as fuel to keep itself going. Join us in guided practices to reclaim true connection. \n\n\nGuided by Joanna Macy’s renowned “Work That Reconnects” framework\, this 5 hour workshop supports us to uncover our gifts at this time and explore how we can take action for ourselves\, for other humans and for the more-than-human world. \nThis will be a kind and supportive space and we warmly invite you to participate. There will be no pressure on you to participate\, only do what you feel comfortable with. \nWe look through the lens of the intersections of speciesism\, anti-racism\, decolonisation\, and environmental racism. Through experiential practices and engaging discussions\, we explore the four stages of The Spiral\, deepening our understanding of collective traumas\, and discovering paths of action and solidarity. \nIn a process known as adversity activated development\, our very act of facing the mess we’re in can help us discover and more enliven our sense of what our lives are about\, what we’re here to do and what we are truly capable of. It will also help you access unexpected resilience and creative power. \nKey Workshop Highlights: \n\n\n\nNavigate the four stages of the Work That Reconnects Spiral\nEngage in experiential practices and discussions\nUnderstand why intersectionality is important at this time and is key to our collective kinship\nExplore speciesism\, anti-racism\, decolonisation\, and environmental racism\nFoster understanding\, healing\, and solidarity\nDevelop personal action plans for change\nBuild a community of like-minded people\n\n\n\nWe want this workshop to be as inclusive as possible so if you need a lower ticket fee\, please contact us. \nFood & Drink – Please bring snacks to share and a water bottle to refill. There is no cafe on site however teas and coffees are available to purchase from the venue as part of our venue hire. \nFrom a previous participant: \n“The workshop felt rich and nourishing but also clear and focused. It helped me to understand more about the challenges of the world we live in and how to be with this so that I can hold that I can move forwards in a more balanced and aligned way. Many aspects of the workshop were deeply moving as we developed connections and awareness as a group. Thank you Cindy and Priyal for sharing this important and crucial work.” – BW \nJoin us for this powerful workshop to foster interconnectedness and take steps toward a more just and inclusive world. We’d love you to join us. \nPriyal & Cindy \n\nAbout Priyal: \nHaving been born into a Jain family in the UK\, I have been immersed in the study of diverse Vedic and Eastern philosophies from an early age. My explorations have encompassed Buddhism\, Hinduism\, Tantra\, and Taoism. As my journey unfolded\, I underwent training as a Holistic Bodyworker and embraced the roles of a teacher in Hatha (Sivananda)\, Tantric\, and Kundalini Yoga. Furthermore\, I delved into the realm of Taoist Qi Gong as a Health Practitioner\, receiving guidance from Mantak Chia and his Universal Healing Tao System. I am a facilitator of the Work That Reconnects. \nGiven the urgency of the Climate Crisis\, my present focus revolves around discovering constructive approaches to decolonise the Climate Justice movement. I am dedicated to amplifying the voices of the Global South and Global Majority\, while nurturing allyship and co-liberation. \nAbout Cindy: \nI’m a psychotherapist and passionate about fostering our capacity to connect with ourselves\, each other and nature. I specilise in supporting Highly Sensitve People to live their best lives. I trained as a facilitator in the Work That Reconnects with Joanna Macy in 2009. I have immersed myself in anti-racism training and as a white woman have focussed on understnading what it means to be white and how this is crucial for white people in anti-racist work. I also provide therapeutic support to people dealing with the climate and nature crisis via the Climate Psychology Alliance. I’m a trustee of the charity Heal Rewilding. \n\n\n\n  \nDuring the workshop\, we will work through the Spiral of the Work That Reconnects as shown in the diagram below. \n \n\n\n  \n  \nVideo testimonial from previous participant Todd:
