SUMMARY:Held by Earth and Each Other - a Retreat for Highly Sensitive People
DESCRIPTION:Non-residential tickets are still available.  All residential options are sold out. \n\nA very special 3 day retreat for HSPs August 21st to 23rd 2026.\n\n\n\nYou will leave this retreat with a stronger sense of belonging\, clarity\, and connection. Not because anything about you needs fixing\, but because you’ll rediscover the inner resources and collective strength that were always there. \nYou’ll feel less alone\, more grounded\, and deeply nourished — ready to move through the world with more steadiness and hope. Surrounded by others who understand what it means to move through the world with a sensitive heart\, you’ll discover that community itself is a source of strength. \nThis retreat is for you if …\nYou one of the 20 – 30% of people who are highly sensitive. \nYes — it’s a real trait\, validated by scientific research. Highly Sensitive People (HSPs) process more deeply\, notice subtleties others miss\, and often feel more attuned to both beauty and suffering. \nThis retreat is for HSPs who:- Value depth\, gentleness\, and authenticity over small talk or surface-level positivity- Long for meaningful connection with others who ‘get it’- Carry grief\, anxiety\, or overwhelm about the state of the world- Want to feel resourced\, grounded\, and inspired again. \nYou can take the HSP test here \nWhat will I experience? \nOver three gentle\, spacious days together\, you’ll be held in a sanctuary designed especially for HSPs. \n\nHeartfelt sharing where your voice is heard and your feelings are welcomed.\nMeditations\, body scans\, and mindfulness to soothe your nervous system\nMindful walks and experiential practices in nature\nGuest facilitators including Lorna Bode\, a wonderful creative arts guide\, Barbara Allen-Williams a hugely expereinced HSP mentor and authorof The Little Book of HSP Wisdom\, Andy Shipley\, a visually impared nature connection guide\, and Dr Andrew May\, a leading HSP researcher – all offering fresh insight and inspiration\nThe weekend will follow the framework of Joanna Macy’s the Work That Reconnects and we will join for the sacred ritual of The Council of All Beings\n\nThe Council of All Beings \nIn this sacred gathering\, we step beyond our human selves and listen with the whole of our being. Through imagination\, reverence\, and quiet communion with the living world\, we allow other voices to speak through us — the trees\, the rivers\, the winds\, the creatures with whom we share this home. Grief and gratitude mingle here\, as we give voice to what has been silenced and open our hearts to the wisdom that surrounds us. \nBefore entering the Council\, we’ll spend time in gentle\, creative exploration — letting the natural world inspire images\, textures\, and symbols that arise from our intuition and play. Then\, together\, we’ll cross into sacred space to speak for the Earth and remember our belonging within the great web of life. \nThis ritual was created by Joanna Macy and John Seed. We’ll also weave throughout the three days other practices from The Work That Reconnects transformative lineage — helping us rediscover the strength that comes from connection: to ourselves\, to one another\, and to the living Earth. \nThrough creativity\, imagination\, and ceremony\, we deepen our sense of belonging to Earth and each other. \n~~~ \nNourishment in every sense – wholesome vegetarian and vegan meals\, unhurried time\, solitude as well as connection. \nThis is not about fixing yourself. It’s about remembering.  \n\nRemembering that your sensitivity connects you with life.\nRemembering that you are not alone with your deep feelings.\nRemembering that you carry within you the capacity for strength\, imagination and love. \n\n~~~ \nThe Retreat House\nThe retreat is at St. Katharine’s\, Parmoor\, a welcoming\, long-established sanctuary where people from all walks of life\, from all faiths or none\, can come to enjoy peace and tranquillity. Guests often leave feeling refreshed both physically and spiritually.\nThe house is set beside the beautiful village of Frieth\, in the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. \nOnly 20 minutes by train from London Marylebone to High Wycombe station or 50 minutes to Marlow via Maidenhead on the Queen Elizabeth Line. \nArrive before lunch at 12 noon on Friday 21st August\nDepart after lunch by 3pm on Sunday 23rd August \nPrices \nSuper Early Bird prices are available until 19th Feb 2026.\nAll the information and tickets are available on the retreat website. \nPayment plans are available starting at £100 deposit for the Super Early Bird price.\nPlease email Cindy & Priyal at bookings@highlysensitiveretreats.com for details. \nA small number of bursary places (50% reduction) are available for people of the global majority who would otherwise find the cost a barrier. This is part of our commitment to inclusivity and decolonising practice. If this would make it possible for you to join us\, please fill out Bursary application form on the website. \nSee the retreat website for more details.\n\nWHAT OTHERS SAY \nCharlotte Del Signore\, Career Coach\n“The HSP retreat was a beautiful mix of connection\, reflection\, and nourishment. It felt like a bubble where I could truly be myself without fear of judgement and have authentic\, open-hearted conversations with others in an atmosphere of genuine care and respect\, supported by thoughtful and gentle facilitation by Cindy and Priyal. The activities nourished my body\, mind and spirit. I left feeling restored\, energised and affirmed\, with newfound confidence in my own path.” \nYou don’t have to navigate this world alone. \nSee the website for more details and to book. \nWHO WE ARE \nCindy Gale is an internationally renowned depth psychotherapist who has spent over fifteen years working exclusively with Highly Sensitive People (HSPs). A Certified Transactional Analyst with an MSc in Psychotherapy and an MBA\, she is a speaker and teaches about the HSP trait in counselling and psychotherapy training colleges and universities. She also coordinates the therapeutic team for the Climate Psychology Alliance. \nCindy is a facilitator of The Work That Reconnects\, having trained with root teacher Joanna Macy. Her work is grounded in reverence for and communion with the natural world and a deep understanding of our ecological and relational selves. Cindy also trained as an End of Life Doula and is a trustee of Heal Rewilding. \nMentored for many years by Malidoma Patrice Somé\, the West African teacher\, author\, and elder known for bridging Indigenous wisdom with Western psychology and spirituality\, Cindy weaves ancient animist and ancestral wisdom into modern therapeutic and community practice.Deeply engaged in decolonisation work\, Cindy brings a reflective focus to the role of white people in co-liberation and collective healing. She believes that as the world grows harder\, the antidote lies in one another—reclaiming belonging through true community. \nPriyal Shah’s life has been a journey of turning sensitivity into strength. Raised in the UK within a Jain family guided by ahimsa — non-violence in thought\, word\, and action — he learned early that gentleness could be a radical act. That understanding became the thread through years of seeking: from Hinduism and Buddhism to Tantra and Taoism\, each path revealing new ways to live with awareness and compassion in a turbulent world. \nNow known as an HSP Yogi and Yoga Ācārya (spiritual teacher)\, Priyal’s work bridges ancient wisdom with modern sensitivity research. Trained in Hatha (Sivananda)\, Tantric\, and Kundalini Yoga\, as well as Yoga Nidra and Yoga philosophy\, he has studied with Dr Uma Dinsmore-Tuli and Mantak Chia\, and been mentored by elders in yogic and ecological-spiritual lineages who model humility\, justice\, and service. \nThrough his HSP themed workshops Radical Rest and B.A.L.A.N.C.E.\, Priyal helps Highly Sensitive People find steadiness and belonging — restoring harmony in body\, awareness\, lifestyle\, attention\, nervous system\, connection\, and energy. \nAs a facilitator of The Work That Reconnects\, he uses sensitivity as a compass for collective healing. Priyal has co-led Co-Liberation workshops with Molly Young Brown\, co-author of Coming Back to Life: The Updated Guide to The Work That Reconnects\, and Mutima Imani\, addressing race and equality as gateways to empathy and shared liberation. \nRooted in Sangha — community and interdependence — Priyal’s work amplifies the voices of the Global South and Global Majority\, weaving spiritual practice with social awakening. His teaching invites people to slow down\, feel deeply\, and remember: gentleness is not retreat — it’s revolution. \nGUEST FACILITATORS \nBarbara Allen-Williams \nBarbara facilitates the empowerment of individual HSPs as a mentor 1-1\, plus groups and workshops nationally and internationally\, and has co-hosted a number of 4-day HSP Gathering Retreats with Jacquelyn Strickland in Europe and USA. She is a founding member of International Consultants in High Sensitivity. She is the author of The Little Book of HSP Wisdom. \nLorna Bode \nLorna is a ceramic artist and educator. She has discovered clay to be a wonderful medium through which we can express our creativity. Lorna is leading our mask making for The Council of All Beings. \nDr. Andrew May \nAndrew is a researcher in sensory processing sensitivity\, a human geneticist by training with expertise in lab-based\, bioinformatic and psychological research\, particularly in an African context. He is interested in human development and behaviour\, from genetic\, psychological and evolutionary perspectives. \nAndy Shipley \nAndy is a visually impared nature connection guide. He is leading a session on gratitude and nature connection\, with the help of his support dog Dodger . Andy’s work focuses on integrating the practice of inclusion into the blood-stream of our social\, economic and natural ecosystems. \n\n\nDetails and booking here HSP 3 Day Retreat

It’s characterised by a finely tuned nervous system and an acute awareness of subtleties. It’s not just a personality quirk; it’s a neurological difference that brings with it a unique set of strengths and challenges. HSPs process the world around them very deeply\, have strong emotional responses and are naturally very empathic. HSPs get overstimulated easily and often have sensory sensitivity to things such as food\, noise\, lighting etc. \nIf you’re curious about the HSP trait you can take the self-test here. HSPs are known as Orchids in this model. https://sensitivityresearch.com/self-tests/adult-self-test/ \nAbout Cate: \nI first read about high sensitivity in 2010\, related to it immediately and haven’t stopped learning about it since! Tricia and I are now event organisers for our local HSP group\, running free events in Berkshire\, Buckinghamshire and Surrey. It’s such a joy to play a part in bringing people together\, to have fun and bond over their many shared traits and experiences! \nAbout Tricia: \nI’m an HSP and a couples and career counsellor. I have greatly valued the HSP group and being able to socialise with so many people who share some of my sensitive traits. \nAbout Cindy: \nI’m an HSP\, a psychotherapist and I know from my own and other’s experiences how vital it is for HSPs to meet other HSPs to validate and normalise the trait. I’ve have been working with HSPs for 10 years supporting them to flourish\, understand and harmonise their relationship with themselves and others. I founded the community group HSPconnect.uk for HSPs to find others\, connect and build friendships. I also hold therapeutic sharing circles for HSPs within the group. \nRESERVE A SPOT

SUMMARY:Navigating Inner Conflict
DESCRIPTION:Buy Tickets \n \n\nJoin us for an interactive meeting exploring the subject of inner conflict\, where we will explore the following questions… \n\nDo you feel conflict between the life you currently live and values that you hold dear?\nDo you love what you do professionally but feel conflicted by the impact of your organisation/industry\, for example socially or environmentally?\n\nInner conflict is very real and something to which both of the facilitators can strongly relate\, having experienced it themselves in former professional roles. \nThey know what the discomfort of inner conflict feels like and how it affected their wellbeing and mental health. They also know that feeling conflicted can act as a barrier when it comes to acting constructively and in alignment with ones own values and how feeling hypocritical can prevent us from taking action and/or contributing to positive change. \nInner conflict can feel immobilising and it can be incredibly challenging to move forwards if it seems as though you are alone with this feeling. \nUnlocking inner conflict is something we are are passionate to explore and support you with\, based upon our own experiences and drawing from our collective expertise in psychotherapy\, human factors training and facilitation. \nWe will explore different types of cognitive dissonance and how to best navigate through them. \nInner conflict is affecting mental health and can be a huge barrier to living in accordance with ethical values in a way that is so desperately needed at this time in history. It doesn’t need to be this way – please join us for this session and lead the change. \nPayment: \nThe suggested fee is £15 and I want these meetings to be available to all so please enter whatever ticket price you can afford.  Tickets via Eventbrite link. \nAbout us: \nDan Tipney is an HSP and a former airline pilot who has experienced significant inner conflict as an environmentalist who felt deeply uncomfortable with the impact of his profession on the natural world. As the third generation of pilots within his family and having wanted to fly since a young age\, Dan struggled with a battle between his love for flying and his own values around equality and fairness that were being challenged due to the consequences of an industry to which he had built a life-long connection. \nPart of Dan’s work within airlines involved delivering training on the subject of Human Factors\, an understanding of which helped him to process the cognitive and emotional elements of the conflict he experienced. He now delivers workshops and facilitates discussions on a range of issues\, including decision making\, team dynamics and organisational culture within healthcare and veterinary teams as well as supporting people from all walks of life to explore the subject of inner conflict. \nAbove all else\, Dan’s passion is to help people to recognise and fully understand what they truly love and compassionately help them to join the dots between aspects of their life so that they feel able to live in alignment with their values. \nCindy Gale is a psychotherapist specialising in supporting HSPs to live their best lives as well as supporting people experiencing climate trauma. She has had many previous careers including engineer\, research scientist\, manager of a rap group\, management consultant\, global sales and marketing VP.  She experienced inner conflict many times. \nBuy Tickets

SUMMARY:HSP Community Connect
DESCRIPTION:BUY TICKET \nNew accessible fee structure\, read below \nCome and explore\, share or listen with other HSPs in a safe space where your normal character trait is understood and validated. Meet old friends and welcome new ones. \nElaine Aron talks of 5 things that every HSP needs to thrive. We’ll explore some of these during our time together. They are: \n\nTo know your trait is real\nTo reframe your past in light of it\nTo heal from past traumas\nTo design a life that is compatible with it\nTo meet other HSPs\n\nDetails of the meeting:\nFacilitated gently by Cindy so that you can relax as much as possible and enjoy the time together with other HSPs. There is no pressure for you to speak\, you are welcome to just sit and listen. This is an opportunity to share ideas and tips on living life to the full as an HSP\, and to ask any questions. It is held in a supportive and safe way. If you want to leave earlier that’s OK\, just leave whenever you need to. We will start with a short guided meditation to bring us together. \nMaximum group size will be 12. \nTechie stuff:\nThe call will take place on Zoom\, you will get the link after you have bought a ticket. On entry you’ll be muted automatically so we better hear one another. I’ll offer the structure of the call at the start. Please enter the Zoom call a few minutes before the start time. You’ll be in the waiting room and I’ll let people in individually. This takes about 3 minutes. \nIf the Zoom link doesn’t work\, try copying and pasting the link into your browser. \nPlease make sure your video and sound works. We need to see you. \nPayment:\nThe suggested fee is £12 and I want these meetings to be available to all so if you need to pay less\, please email me and I will send you my Paypal link where you can enter whatever you can afford. \nAbout Cindy: \nI’m a psychotherapist. I have been working with HSPs for 10 years supporting them to flourish\, understand and harmonise their relationship with themselves and others.
