SUMMARY:Ayurvedic Healing for Highly Sensitive People
DESCRIPTION:Get Tickets \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAncient wisdom for modern nervous systems\n\n\n\n\nMany highly sensitive people know\, deep down\, that modern life asks far too much of their nervous systems. The pace\, noise and constant stimulation can feel exhausting\, even when nothing is “wrong”. \nAyurveda offers a radically different way of understanding sensitivity. Originating in India over 5\,000 years ago\, it is a sacred system of wisdom that works with the whole being – body\, mind\, senses and spirit. Rather than treating sensitivity as a problem\, Ayurveda recognises it as a natural constitutional trait that needs rhythm\, nourishment and care. \nAyurveda is often effective for persistent and chronic health conditions that have not fully responded to conventional approaches\, because it takes a whole person view of body\, nervous system and way of life\, in a very subtle way. \nWe are delighted to be welcoming Ayurvedic doctor Dr Pradeep Bhattathiri for a live online introduction to Ayurveda for highly sensitive people. He is one of the most sought after Ayuvedic doctors in the UK. \nThis first session will explore the foundations of Ayurveda and why this ancient spiritual and medical tradition is so profoundly suited to sensitive nervous systems. Further sessions will follow\, going deeper into specific aspects of Ayurveda for HSPs. \nAbout our guest:\nDr. Pradeep Bhattathiri is a qualified Ayurvedic doctor rooted in the unique Ayurvedic tradition of Kerala\, India. Born into a family steeped in India’s Vedic heritage\, he was initiated into Vedic learning from an early age—an upbringing that gifted him mastery of Sanskrit and a deep foundation in Vedic texts\, both essential pillars for the authentic practice and understanding of Ayurveda. \nHe completed his Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) at the prestigious Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences in Bangalore. Following his graduation\, Dr. Pradeep served in several respected health and wellness institutions\, including nine years with the renowned Kottakkal Arya Vaidya Sala Hospitals and Research Centres across India. \nWith over 21 years of clinical experience\, Dr. Pradeep has supported thousands of patients in addressing chronic and complex health conditions—often those who had found limited solutions in conventional Western medicine. His approach focuses not only on alleviating disease but also on enhancing overall well-being and quality of life. \nDr. Pradeep’s long years of spiritual study and exploration have also enabled him to guide spiritual aspirants seeking deeper inner wisdom. His own path was shaped by a profound spiritual experience nearly 13 years ago\, which led to his initiation into the Goddess tradition and the activation of kundalini energy. Since then\, his life and work have unfolded through an ever-deepening connection to nature\, consciousness\, and the inner dimensions of healing. \nHe is a founding director of Ayuvera Ltd. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDr. Pradeep Bhattathiri

SUMMARY:The Empowered Highly Sensitive Person - a day of connection and renewal
DESCRIPTION:Get Tickets \n\n\n\n\n\n\nJoin us for a restorative and enriching day – an opportunity to connect deeply with other HSPs in a warm and nourishing environment.\n\nSunday\, September 21 · 10:30am – 5pm GMT+1. Doors at 10am\n\n\n\n\nWalking out of this retreat\, you will leave with… \n· A deep sense of belonging from being surrounded by others who just get it \n· Relief from the pressures of not being yourself or having to explain yourself \n· The calm and restoration that comes from being in nature and in good HSP company \n· Newfound confidence in your own path\, nurtured by being truly seen and heard \n· Insights into the HSP trait that help you understand yourself with more compassion \n· Inspiration and encouragement to carry this forward into your everyday life \nThis isn’t just about relaxation—it’s about what Dr Andrew May in his talk for HSPconnect about Why The New HSP Test Matters\, called minority stress: the wear and tear of feeling different\, misunderstood\, or out of step with the wider culture. Time with other HSPs lifts that burden. It’s why some of our members are returning again after our first retreat—because being in this kind of community changes how you feel in the world. \nHere you don’t have to defend your sensitivity—it is not only understood but valued—and being together sets you up for carrying this into everyday life. \nThis isn’t just a retreat day — it’s a gathering with intention. We’ve designed it as a restorative pause from the noise of everyday life\, where HSPs can come together in a warm\, nourishing atmosphere and experience the relief of being truly understood. \nOur time together will include: \n🟢 Sharing Circles & Guided Exercises – A space where your voice matters. We’ll listen deeply\, share experiences\, and practise the art of being seen and seeing others. \n🧑🏽‍🎓 Understanding the HSP Trait – Together we’ll explore what it means to live fully as an HSP: the strengths we hold\, the challenges we carry\, and how to step into greater ease and authenticity. \n🌳 Experiential Time in Nature – Gentle\, grounding practices in the nearby woodland (weather permitting) to deepen your sense of rootedness and connection. \n🧘🏽‍♂️ Relaxation & Restoration – Breathwork\, yoga nidra\, or guided visualisation to replenish your nervous system and leave you feeling lighter. \n🍜 Home-Cooked Nourishment – Ayurvedic vegetarian meals\, crafted with care\, to support both body and spirit. \n🫂 Unstructured Connection – Spacious time to linger in conversation\, walk the woods\, or simply be — because connection doesn’t only happen in circles\, it unfolds in pauses too. \nThis day is for those who long for a community of resonance: people who ‘get it’\, who value gentleness\, depth\, and sincerity. Whether you come for learning\, for rest\, or simply for the chance to exhale\, you’ll leave knowing you belong. \nWe look forward to welcoming you into this circle. 💙 \nCindy & Priyal \nWhat previous particpants said –\n‘The retreat is a true haven for HSPs. It felt like a bubble where I could truly be myself without fear of judgement and have authentic\, open-hearted conversations with others in an atmosphere of genuine care and respect\, supported by thoughtful and gentle facilitation by Cindy and Priyal. The activities of the day nourished my body\, mind and spirit. I left the day feeling restored\, energised and affirmed\, with newfound confidence in my own path.’ ~ Annabelle Roblin-Sserwanja \n‘The HSP Retreat day was wonderfully relaxing and insightful. I really enjoyed discovering more about the HSP trait\, connecting with other HSPs\, the forest mirror walk and the yoga nidra meditation session in the garden. The location was lovely\, surrounded by trees and the nutritious lunch and plentiful refreshments were yummy. It was a nourishing and inspiring day that has given me plenty of food for thought and encouragement to pursue creative projects.’ ~ Margaret Brown \nLocation: Near Marlow\, SL7 2HU in the Chiltern Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty\, UK. We’ll be in our retreat cabin overlooking the wildlife pond\, surrounded by forest. \nLimited to 8 participants: We are offering this to members of HSPconnect first before advertising it elsewhere so do RSVP soon. \nPrice: £125 (early bird price until 8th September then £150) for the day including all food and drinks (not including accommodation). \nDate: Sunday 21st September 2025 Time: 10.30am till 5.00pm \nAccommodation: For the nearest Airbnb’s use the postcode SL7 2HU\, there is hotel accommodation in Marlow 3 miles away\, a pub in Frieth with comfortable rooms\, and a campsite less that 1 mile away. \nParking: If you’re coming by car\, let us know as parking is limited and we will reserve you a place. \nNearest train stations: Marlow\, High Wycombe (30 mins from London Marylebone) or Maidenhead (30 mins from Paddington). \nTransport to and from train stations: We will collect you. \nDisabled access: Unfortunately\, the location and venue is not suitable for wheelchair users. SUMMARY:How to Stay Open-Hearted in a Broken World (for Sensitive Souls)
DESCRIPTION:Get Tickets \n\n\nIn a time of rising authoritarianism\, climate breakdown\, war\, mass displacement\, and the rapid destruction of nature\, many of us carry a quiet\, persistent grief. \nGrief for the forests burning. \nGrief for lives lost & uprooted. \nLoss of our mentors and teachers. \nGrief for a future that feels uncertain. \nBut we rarely speak of it. We keep going. We stay busy. We tell ourselves not to dwell on the negative. And yet\, that unspoken grief doesn’t disappear—it sits in our bodies\, our dreams\, our sense of meaning. For many\, it shows up as exhaustion\, anxiety\, or feeling stuck in overwhelm or despair. \nThis gathering is a space to do and feel something different. To speak the unspeakable. To feel what needs to be felt. To remember that we are not alone—and we were never meant to do this alone. \n  \nWho is this for? \nThis event is designed for Highly Sensitive People (HSPs)—those who process things deeply\, notice subtleties that others miss\, and often feel emotionally affected by the suffering in the world\, because of a compassionate heart. \nYou might be an HSP if: \n\nYou process emotions and experiences more deeply than most\nYou’re sensitive to noise\, conflict\, or strong sensory input\nYou care deeply about social justice\, the natural world\, and the well-being of others\nYou often feel overwhelmed\, but still long to contribute meaningfully\n\nIf this sounds like you\, you’ll be in good company. This session is led by facilitators who are attuned to sensitivity\, gentleness\, and depth—and who understand how overwhelming the world can feel. \nYou’ll be welcomed into a space designed to support and honour your sensitivity\, not ask you to override it. A space where slowness\, reflection\, and emotional honesty are not just allowed\, but encouraged. \n  \nAbout the Work That Reconnects \nThe Work That Reconnects\, developed by Joanna Macy(who is a good ancestor now)\, is a powerful body of practices that helps us: \n\nTo find gratitude\nUnderstand who we are and how we have been programmed\nFace the systems of oppresion that impacts us\nHonour our pain for the world without being consumed by it\nMove from paralysis to liberation\nTap into the strength that comes from community and collective care\nReconnect with what truly matters\, even amidst uncertainty\n\nThis 3-hour online session (with breaks) is a gently held introduction to this work. It is not a training or a lecture—it is an experience of connection\, spaciousness\, and deep listening. You’ll be invited (never pressured) to engage in practices that support inner resilience and compassionate action. \n  \nWhat You Can Expect \nYou may leave this session feeling: \n\nLess alone in your feelings about the world\nMore grounded and spacious—like your nervous system has had a deep exhale\nReconnected to your values\, purpose\, or a sense of direction\nEncouraged to honour your sensitivity not as a burden\, but as a strength\nInspired to take action from a place of love\, not fear\nNourished by being in the company of people who get it—who feel as deeply as you do\nResourced with simple but profound practices to return to again and again\n\nThis isn’t about fixing you. It’s about remembering what helps you stay open\, stay human\, and stay connected in a world that often encourages the opposite. \nYou don’t need to have the answers. You just need to be willing to come as you are. \n  \nYour facilitators: \n🌿 Mutima Imani We are deeply honoured to be joined by Mutima Imani\, a senior elder in the Work That Reconnects and one of its most experienced and beloved facilitators. Mutima brings a rare and powerful combination of fierce wisdom\, deep compassion\, and ancestral grounding to everything she does. \nA social justice visionary\, healing practitioner\, and global trainer in spiritual activism\, \nShe is one of the few Black women elders in the Work That Reconnects network\, and her leadership brings essential voices\, lineages\, and truths into this process—calling us to reckon with the interconnected crises of climate devastation\, racial injustice\, colonization\, and spiritual disconnection. \nHer work helps us root our activism in love\, not burnout—guiding us gently but clearly into a more just\, embodied\, and interconnected way of being. \nThis is a rare opportunity to learn from and be guided by someone who has walked this path for many years and carries the deep wisdom of lived experience. \n🌿 Priyal Shah Priyal was born into a Jain family in the UK and has devoted his life to Vedic and Eastern spiritual teachings. He is a trained holistic bodyworker\, Hatha and Kundalini yoga teacher\, and Taoist Qi Gong practitioner. Priyal is a facilitator of the Work That Reconnects and brings a grounded\, embodied approach that blends spiritual depth with compassion and clarity. \n🌿 Cindy Gale Cindy is a psychotherapist who has worked exclusively with highly sensitive people for over 15 years. She founded HSPconnect.app. She facilitates the Work That Reconnects alongside her therapeutic work with HSPs. She also coordinates the therapeutic support service for the Climate Psychology Alliance and is a trustee of Heal Rewilding. Cindy is passionate about restoring our connection to self\, to nature\, and to one another. \n  \n\n\n\n\nMutima Imani

I noticed how neither of us could tolerate the noise and over stimulation of mother and baby groups. So I went in search of answers. I discovered the books of Elaine Aron and have found relief in reading\, researching and studying the remarkable and wonderful trait of high sensitivity. \nI’m an HSP extrovert\, Art Educator PGCE\, Ceramicist\, director of Pause for Creativity – Artist Led Workshops and Retreats. \nI have always been interested in nature’s forms and shapes. As a child\, fascinated by found objects\, I collected shells\, leaves\, insects and mosses. I still find myself drawn to their colours\, shapes and textures. When working with clay I feel connected to the earth and the plasticity of the clay allows me to endlessly reinvent and recreate the natural world in my work.

HSPs are known as Orchids in this model. https://sensitivityresearch.com/self-tests/adult-self-test/ \nAbout Lorna: \nI discovered my treasured trait of high sensitivity 20 years ago when I started raising a sensitive child. I noticed how neither of us could tolerate the noise and over stimulation of mother and baby groups. So I went in search of answers. I discovered the books of Elaine Aron and have found relief in reading\, researching and studying the remarkable and wonderful trait of high sensitivity. \nI’m an art educator\, ceramicist\, director of Pause for Creativity – Artist Led Workshops and Retreats. \nAbout Cindy: \nI’m an HSP and a psychotherapist. I know from my own and other’s experiences how vital it is for HSPs to meet other HSPs to validate and normalise the trait. I’ve have been working with HSPs for 12 years supporting them to flourish\, understand and harmonise their relationship with themselves and others. \nI founded the community group HSPconnect.uk for HSPs to find others\, connect and build friendships. I also hold therapeutic sharing circles for HSPs within the group.

SUMMARY:Building Our Inner Resources in the Face of Ecological and Global Distress.
DESCRIPTION:Buy Tickets on Eventbrite\n\nBuy Tickets \n  \nHow do we build our inner resources to cope with the daily onslaught of social injustice\, wars\, nature destruction and climate crises? How do we find our best responses and get unstuck from overwhelm\, panic or despair? \nWe are thrilled that we will be joined by guest facilitator and Work That Reconnects elder Mutima Imani.  This is a very rare and unmissable opportunity to work in person with Mutima while she is briefly in the UK. \nWe will move through a day of ritual and practices through The Spiral of Joanna Macy and Molly Brown’s ‘Work That Reconnects/Active Hope’ together in rewilded land. We will create a container together to touch our fear\, grief and anger for what is happening to our world\, acknowledge our overwhelm\, expand our perspectives\, and emerge with a new sense of how we want to show up in this unique time in history. \n“The day felt rich and nourishing but also clear and focused. It helped me to understand more about the challenges of the world we live in and how to be with this so that I can hold that I can move forwards in a more balanced and aligned way. Many aspects of the workshop were deeply moving as we developed connections and awareness as a group. Thank you Cindy and Priyal for sharing this important and crucial work.” – Previous workshop participant\, BW \nAre you ready to reclaim deep connection with yourself\, with others and with the land around you? Join us for a transformative day in rewilded land. We will hold space to listen to the land\, listen to ourselves\, and listen and be heard in community. \nWho is this for? \n• You’re fatigued\, tired\, maybe burnt out \n• You long to be back in alignment with your ecological self\, and communing with the web of relationality that surrounds us \n• You feel as if sometimes you are a processing unit for all the pain in the world. \n• World events leave you feeling overwhelmed\, sometimes despairing\, other times panicked\, maybe numb \n• You welcome the key learnings of this time: \n\nRest – learning practices to rest and sleep well;\nEmbodiment – learning to trust your body as much as your brain;\nEmotions – learning what your emotions are\, why you have them\, and how to process them to free you up and keep you unstuck;\nCommunity – learning how to do this in right relationship\, not alone. To hold space and containment for each other.\n\nWe welcome people from all backgrounds and cultures\, and\, we particularly welcome people of colour. \nThis will be a nurturing day and we warmly invite you to participate. He has such a brilliant mind. Priyal instantly showed his deep understanding of what needs to happen in the minds and hearts of people to decolonize ourselves. He’s dynamic and you’ll learn much from him. He is a disrupter of business as usual. It’s characterised by a finely tuned nervous system and an acute awareness of subtleties. It’s not just a personality quirk; it’s a neurological difference that brings with it a unique set of strengths and challenges. HSPs process the world around them very deeply\, have strong emotional responses and are naturally very empathic. HSPs get overstimulated easily and often have sensory sensitivity to things such as food\, noise\, lighting etc. \nIf you’re curious about the HSP trait you can take the self-test here. HSPs are known as Orchids in this model. https://sensitivityresearch.com/self-tests/adult-self-test/ \nAbout Cate: \nI first read about high sensitivity in 2010\, related to it immediately and haven’t stopped learning about it since! Tricia and I are now event organisers for our local HSP group\, running free events in Berkshire\, Buckinghamshire and Surrey. It’s such a joy to play a part in bringing people together\, to have fun and bond over their many shared traits and experiences! \nAbout Tricia: \nI’m an HSP and a couples and career counsellor. I have greatly valued the HSP group and being able to socialise with so many people who share some of my sensitive traits. \nAbout Cindy: \nI’m an HSP\, a psychotherapist and I know from my own and other’s experiences how vital it is for HSPs to meet other HSPs to validate and normalise the trait. I’ve have been working with HSPs for 10 years supporting them to flourish\, understand and harmonise their relationship with themselves and others. I founded the community group HSPconnect.uk for HSPs to find others\, connect and build friendships. I also hold therapeutic sharing circles for HSPs within the group. \nRESERVE A SPOT
